Mondo Gallery will be showcasing the amazingly gruesome art of EC Comics’ legendary Tales from the Crypt in a month-long gallery show in Austin, Texas, beginning in late October. Entitled “It Didn’t Rot Our Brains”, the show will feature the work of over thirty artists, all honoring the legacy of the horror comic, its mischievous “Monster of Ceremonies” The Cryptkeeper, and the classic TV series adaptation.
The Tales from the Crypt gallery show kicks off with a special premiere night on Friday, October 25th from 7-10pm, and concludes on November 23rd.
I am honored that Mondo used my velvet painting of The Crypt Keeper for their invite!
I am very excited to have two new paintings in this new group art show. Gallery 1988 teamed up with J.J. Abrams and crew to host the first ever Official Bad Robot Art Experience, featuring a collection of artwork inspired by the films and TV shows of writer, producer and director J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production company.
Proceeds from the art show will benefit The Mission Continues charity, who helps inspire military veterans to become community leaders.
Opening Reception: Friday, April 26th, 7-10PM. Show runs until May 18, 2013.
Gallery 1988 West, 7308 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles, CA.
Hero Complex Gallery presents: Weapon of Choice, hosted by Design Matters 11527 Pico Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90064. The theme of this group show revolves around art inspired by prominent characters of fiction, historical reference, or pop culture, and their relationship with their iconic “weapon”. I am excited to contribute a new Godzilla velvet painting for this show!
