Spoke Art is proud to present: KUBRICK – An art show tribute to the films of Stanley Kubrick. Over 60 artists were invited to re-imagine their favorite characters, scenes and thematic concepts from one of the world’s most prolific directors. Spanning a plethora of mediums from sculpture and painting to limited edition prints, the show seeks to honor one of the 20th century’s most significant directors while also reinterpreting his impact in a contemporary context.

The gala raises funds for the ongoing costs of maintaining Rancho Obi-Wan including insurance, utilities, security, professional services, maintenance, and protection, preservation and documentation of the collection. No funds are ever used to acquire collectibles.
I was happy to be invited to participate in the Rancho Obi-Wan Gala auction, donating two paintings, one of which, Darth Vader on velvet, was used in the Rancho auction invite.

Mondo Gallery will be showcasing the amazingly gruesome art of EC Comics’ legendary Tales from the Crypt in a month-long gallery show in Austin, Texas, beginning in late October. Entitled “It Didn’t Rot Our Brains”, the show will feature the work of over thirty artists, all honoring the legacy of the horror comic, its mischievous “Monster of Ceremonies” The Cryptkeeper, and the classic TV series adaptation.
The Tales from the Crypt gallery show kicks off with a special premiere night on Friday, October 25th from 7-10pm, and concludes on November 23rd.
I am honored that Mondo used my velvet painting of The Crypt Keeper for their invite!
I am very excited to have two new paintings in this new group art show. Gallery 1988 teamed up with J.J. Abrams and crew to host the first ever Official Bad Robot Art Experience, featuring a collection of artwork inspired by the films and TV shows of writer, producer and director J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production company.
Proceeds from the art show will benefit The Mission Continues charity, who helps inspire military veterans to become community leaders.
Opening Reception: Friday, April 26th, 7-10PM. Show runs until May 18, 2013.
